RedHat 7.2 and Quotas
I have about 4000 users on a RedHat 7.2 Sendmail 8.11.6 server, and have just discovered that quota's aren't limitied user's mail the way it is supposed to. An error generates that they are over quota, but it still dumps into their spool file, even when the quota is being exceeded.
I have my partitions set up as:
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/rd/c0d0p6 59G 3.6G 52G 7% /
/dev/rd/c0d0p1 30M 14M 15M 47% /boot
/dev/rd/c0d0p3 20G 62M 18G 1% /home
none 1008M 0 1008M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/rd/c0d0p5 20G 1.7G 16G 10% /var/spool/mail
I have quota set up on /home and /var/spool/mail partitions.
Quota "appears" to be working as it should, however, I end up with users like this:
Block grace time: 7days; Inode grace time: 7days
Block limits File limits
User used soft hard grace used soft hard grace
----------------------------------------------------------------------
bozoboy +- 9176 0 5120 1 0 0
Note that they have exceeded their quota by almost 100%
Any ideas why quota won't actually enforce the quota?
