redhat 4 or 5


Anyone know where i can get RedHat 4 or 5 from ? have tried google and torrents, all I could find was an unseeded redhat 9 torrent.

Any help appreciated =)

Ebay??? Seriously, you're going to struggle finding it. I think linuxiso.org had back to 7.0 or something like that, but they're updating their site. Now they only seem to have 9.0. You might email them and see if they have old copies on their server somewhere.

Any particular reason for such an old distro?

puttin linux onto a thinkpad 560, so i want an old version of linux that the thinkpad will be able to handle.

Someone is sending me RedHat 5 in the post now, but htanks for replying =)

Why not get a newer distro thats designed to work on old hardware. There are lots to choose from e.g. Slackware, Vector Linux, Damn Small etc.

tried slackware, and the boot floppies wouldnt work. Same for FC4 boot floppies.

I will try vector linux though, thanks !
