red hat instalation help
i place the cd into my dvd-rom drive and it loads the main scrren i hit enter to begin the install, it initializes some files then reboots, it does this for whatever command i enter weather it be mediacheck, lowres etc.
plz help
my hardware:
via p4pb ultra mobo
p4 2.8ghz
512mb ddr x2
maxtor 200gb hdd
leadtek 256mb 8x agp
pioneer dvd-rw(which i'm booting the cd from)

1. Have you turned off PNP in the bios?
2. Have you checked the RH site to see if 8x agp is supported? If you can try another video card, you might try that.
3. Turn off APM and/or APCI in the bios, too.
Personally, I have never had good luck with VIA chipsets and boards, but other I know have never had problems. Other than the video and power control stuff, I don't see any hardware problems

okay, i did that it worker, once, after that i tried telling the kernel how much ram i had(i think my ram is the problem) i used the string mem=2048 which is my actual amount, it said uncompressing linux...installing kernel and just hangs their, what should i do now?
