Unhappy Red Hat 9.0 and Xine


I installed freshly a Red Hat 9.0 and everything goes smoothly. And then I installed the Xine releashed on April 14, 2003 but it failed to run and the error message is as follow. Please help how to solve the problem.

psssst - try mplayer

the same rpms for rh 8 work for 9

instructions are on my guide below

Just a guess... try to uninstal Xine and install it again. Sometimes it works for me Sounds like some sharing files (plugins) were not installed correctly.
I use my self "avifile" to watch movies, it's a great player and relativly easy to install. Here is the link:

You will also need to have SDL installed, which you get freely here:

http://www.libsdl.org/index.php

Install SDL first, then compile avifile, it would find SDL libraries automaticly

Still, if you are planning to watch DVD's, I don't think avifile might help you. Try to uninstall Xine from your distro and download the latest Xine and see what happens

easyist way it to go to freshrpms.net and download apt from redhat 9 rpm then use it to install xine it will install it with depencies correctly
