red alert 2 problem

Hello, I have a problem with red alert 2 under winex and cedega.

When I install and then run red alert 2, in skirmish or single player, a couple of minutes into the game, everything blows up, and the game ends.

I had a look in system.reg, under /home/.transgaming, and found that every game I installed under winex had an entry there, except for red alert 2. I've tried clean installs of both red alert 2 and winex, but no matter what, red alert 2 never touches my system.reg. In short, when red alert 2 is run, it looks in the registry, finds nothing, especially no serial key, which it stores in the registry, and decides I'm not authorised to play red alert 2, which is why everything blows up. Can someone tell me if I have to set some permissions for the system.reg file, or what?

If anyone has had this problem, and can tell me how to successfully run red alert 2 under linux, please do. RA2 is one of the last reasons that I use windows.

Thanks, any help anyone can give would be really appreciated.

RED ALERT2 ends prematurely RA2 terminates

I was experiencing EXACTLY the same problem running WIN98SE - NO UNIX.

I have been able to get the game to run (exception) reinforcements blow up when they land etc.

I achieved this by fixing an ASPI problem. ie: leveling correctly between versions.... I believe I still have a level problem.

I believe the problem is in WINASPI.DLL and/or WNASPI32.DLL and/or APIX.VID and/or ASPIENUM,VXD and/or SPARROW.MPD and difference in version levels.

Try finding a zip file ASPIENUM containing aspi32, Aspichk and sparrow.mpd

When you run aspi32 it will create an install - install the program and run it. It will level your installed files (obviously not all of them) or there exists yet another problem.

If anyone finds a fix please let me know.

Ra2 Problem

You say that your base blows up halfway through the game. This is not a linux problem. It is a windows problem, very common. This comes from corrupted files, and still riddles the ra2 community to this day.

Perhaps, giving the solution for the windows version will help you.

You Must manually delete the install directory. then you just reinstall it from the disk.
