Recovery software

Hi Guys,
Any of you know of any free open source programs that could help me recover files off a micro SD card, that my linux box fails to recognise. Basically, in windows also, it wants me to format it. Think its corrupted me thinks. Any ideas guys?

Tried some so called "demo" progams on windows, that claim to recover certain file types, like just picture maybe, but upon installation, only shows how many files that can be retrieved in numbers (which I'm still thinking it's a lie, the number value generated that is).

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a job for the superhero duo TestDisk and PhotoRec.

Hello,

http://www.caine-live.net/

This is a forensic distribution that is bootable and has many, many, many open source tools for the job of recovery and investigation. Good luck!
