Logically we should be able to do that. If you can somehow read the registry entries from XP,then we can change the admin passwd provided we have a hash decoder as the password/reg entries are all hash coded. Lets do it the other and simple way. Its simple only when you have the following liveCD with you. :)
Why do you want to go round about , when things can be done in a simple straight forward way. It realls seems funny someone explaining to do things for XP in a forum dedicated to Linux. Any ways that does not make any difference , we are here to help you fix the problems al long as we know/have an idea to fix that. Lets start talking and stop all this nonsense.

There is something called "LiveCD" for WinXP. This is known as BartPE. Just google it out. Its size is really around 100 MB. Download the iso and burn it to a CD, make it handy as it'll solve your hell of problems.
Now Put the CD to your CDROM , reboot the sys to WinXP[make sure you boot from the CD, else all this is just shit]. Now the OS will load , precisely this Rescue OS 'll load. Now click on "Start" then "Programs" and then you will find some thing like security/ changing password, click on it and change teh passsword for any one you like Admin/User etc. shutdown and reboot [don't boot from CD] to XP and login as a Admin and do whatever you want.
If you are still not getting the hang whatz going on have a look here
