Recording video with Cheese
I am experiencing problems when attempting to record a video using the Cheese program. I can take pictures no problem, I can even add the effects that Cheese offers, however when I try and record a video the program will only record a few frames, about one every three seconds and no sound. The display also goes blank and then shows a frame now and again during recording, but when I turn the recording off it goes back to a live view.
I looked in Cheese's FAQ and it suggested that I check the gstreamer properties to make sure that my graphics card was dealing with these and not my motherboard. However that was set up fine, so it made no difference. I did notice that when I open Cheese using the command line I get the following message twice: Quote:
My webcam is the Creative Live! optia pro, this does appear to be working as Skype and sound recorder work fine on my OS: Fedora 10 & Ubuntu 9.04. Please help as this has been going on for 3 months. |
hi
according to this search you may have a uvcvideo cam http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdev.php?id=4305 check the output of lsmod | grep uvcvideo and if you see it install a different cam recorder called guvcview its excellent for snapshots and recording....and you can play with the video and sound devices until it works |
Is this the "Cheese program" to which you refer? -- providing a link would make your post more accessible & useful to everyone.
