Record from VCR and create DVD?
 

Is there any good software that can record video from VCR and burn it to DVD?

mencoder is really the only serious contender if you are looking to encode video on Linux. Though perhaps you are looking for some sort of GUI frontend for it?

Yes, I want to capture video from VCR and burn DVDs.

For capture I would look at mythtv.

Then I would convert(if needed) with Avidemux2 (it has automatic settings to get into DVD video format).


Then I would use Qdvdauthor to generate the menu system and make the ISO.

Finally I would burn the ISO with k3b.
