Recommended Project Management s/w
 

I am interested in recommendations for Project Management s/w to run under GNOME.

I know that MrProject has been around for a while, however the latest news on the MrProject website is February 2003.

Does anyone know if MrProject is still actively supported? Are there are other actively supported recommended Project Management packages?

Recommended Project Management Software
 

A good hosted Project Management software that suits my EPM needs is called valleyspeak project server, One of the main reasons why I like the software is the fact that I could continue to work in Microsoft Project 2007 while sharing my Microsoft Project plans with my teams.

Because it is a hosted service, I did not have to buy expensive software or deal with installation and maintenance headaches. The functionality that I have with valleyspeak to manage my geographically dispersed teams works well for me. We also evaluated Basecamp and some other solutions but were not impressed.

However, we have now found that Zoho Projects is a very powerful solution that is very reasonably priced.

You can start with a single project free of charge. The high-end Enterprise version allows unlimited users and unlimited projects, all for US$80 per month.

In the last year, with the maturing and expansion of capabilities of web-based solutions such as Zoho Projects, users are now expecting solutions that allow web access from anywhere, no matter whether the available PC is running MAc, Linux or Windows operating systems.

Given the directions set by Google Gears that support offline and online capabilities for browser-based solutions, this is clearly an excellent solution for dispersed teams.
