Recommended OpenSource Availability Generator/Software

Hi,

I'm a college baseball coach, and I'm trying to find some open-source software that will allow me to easily find gaps in my players' school schedules so that we can schedule individual practice times.

For example:

All the players would input their schedules (or availability), and then I would be able to find availability based upon which group (or position) they would be in. Ex. Pitchers would be paired up with catchers, etc.

I've spent some time googling this, but haven't been able to find anything that would help me out.

Thanks a bunch!

are you planning on updating this or is it going to be on a website/intranet ? either way openfreeway has a calendar module which integrates with joomla and can allow scheduling based on your parameters. Hope that helps.

I'd like this to happen primarily through the intranet/web browser, that way our players can input their schedules on their own.

Any other ideas?

I tried the module out, but that didn't seem to fit my need. Any other ideas on some opensource scheduling utilities?

Thanks!

a colleague of mine recommended zimbra , I have never used it but he seems to think it will help screenshots look promising , other than that Im at a loss. If I were to be handed this and a clean slate i would run the php/mysql route but I'm sure there's something open source already out there.
