Recommended Linux Applications

Just wanted to find out what Linux applications you cannot live without. If you were to install Linux today, which applications would you just need to install before tomorrow? Please post your list for top linux applications.

Most come with the distro, like OOo, Kmail, Mozilla, k3b, Totem/xine, XMMS, etc...

The apps I need to load are usually gtk-gnutella, firefox, winex, crossover (and two win apps I need for dog stuff) UT, Q3, RTCW, and so forth games. Maybe not for tomorrow, but before the end of the week :)

I have to say that my Linux installs are not complete without a freshly compiled install of MPlayer! MPlayer is one of those apps that you just can never get enough from!
Not only does it play everything, but it is stable, it works in console and GUI and of course, it plays everything!
