Recommended distro for live PVR

Not sure whether this is the correct forum, but I have been trying to find a decent distro/software/hardware combination for running a RELIABLE PVR/Music/Video/streaming PC. Since the death of Windows Media Centre (really hate to say it, but still the most reliable for all things media), I have been trying various systems, from specific single use systems like Openelec, to various distros running various applications.
Currently using Mint 18 x64, Kodi (2:17.1~git20170320.2031-final-0xenial), TVHeadend (2:17.1~git20170320.2031-final-0xenial), Leadtek WinFast DTV Dongle Dual DVB-T Tuner.
Have also tried different hardware: I5, 8gb, intel, currently using an ASRock Beebox.
Thanks.

SageTV was awesome, but since Google bought it up, it's not available anymore to my knowledge.. What about MythTV?

Seems to be a vast hole left by Media Center that no one has filled exactly. From Emby to the versions of kodi to HDhomerun on a nas and many more out there.

I've been playing with them for years. Can't say I support one over the other.

The best case seems to be in Europe as the schedules are easier and more documentation so you are at least lucky there.
