Recommend me a back-up program Please !

Can anyone recommend me a basic, simple to use back up program that can be apt-get installed preferable, or last resort, a .tar would be ok. I do not want one that is run with a command line in a terminal. In Linux the only one I have every used is Konserve for KDE which is perfect for me, but of course if I use that it crashes my gnome.

I just want one to back up my local files to disk, and then will burn it to a CD.
I hope someone can help, I need one very badly.

My favourite is partimage, but you could also have a look at the FWBackup script you can find here.

I am using rdiff-backup and am happy with it. It's available via apt in ubunutu.

Oops - just noticed your "no command line apps" requirement - rdiff-backup is probably not what you want.

I looked hard and got advice and, frankly, the only one which fits is Kdar.

However you cannot apt-get it. Download from Sourceforge, unarchive and compile.

It compiles easily and well.

You might need to play around with the configuration to get it to do what you want, I found it counter-intuitive.

Hint: select /as the path to back up. Then in configuration options, Directories, EXCLUDE / and include what you want.
