Receive Neighbor Advertisement in NUD_FAILED state is not changing the neighbor state

Hi,

I have an offload engine, where the engine will add the new IPv6 header, and the user application will try to send the neighbor solicitations and resolve neighbors.

In this case, when neighbor solicitation is sent through application (using raw socket), if the neighbor is in FAILED state at that instant, the neighbor advertisement received by peer is not making the neighbor state to get changed (to NUD_REACHABLE).

Is there any way to come out of this situation?

Regards,
Vani
