Reccomend a slide show maker

I make a number of slide shows for my self and others
A slide show that is as opposed to an Open Office Presentation/Win Office Power Point.
I typically use a Windows program- DVDPixPlayor similar

Casn anyone recommend a Ubuntu compatible similar?

Hello, did you try using Pitivi? If you want more functionality - avidemux is the thing. It's something like virtualdub on Windows and allows you to perform lots of various video-related tasks. And in the end, Bombono (bombono-dvd package) for WYSIWYG DVD authoring. I've also found a package called Imagination in ubuntu standart repos. It's specially esigned for DVD slideshows but I haven't tried it myself.
