RealVNC

okay I'm having some troubles getting this to work!
I got it installed and I can run the server but when I try and connect to it from another computer, it says it couldn't find it on the computer or soemthing with not having that IP running VNC!

Anyone use RealVNC please help me

ok, I don't remember much what I did to get it to work (i used tightVNC by the way), but when you type in "http://<ip_maching_running_vnc>" you are including the port that realVNC listens on right?

when you connect using VNC , at least concerning the client. I have used real vnc in the past and when i connected to the remote host i had to give the display is was running.
For instance say if you are running the realvnc server on a linux box that is running XFree86. The real vnc server would be server 1 instead of the normal 0.

i.e remotehost:1

but for the lamos who installed real vnc on a windoze box all you have to do is connect to the box.

Also you sure both 590X 600X tcp are allowed thru the firewall? You can use netstat -ap | grep vnc to verify that the vnc server is running too. (and to find out what the X is)

I used Windoze version in the past so I really have no idea what I need to do :\

EDIT here's the message I get when I type 192.168.1.101 which is the computers IP address that is running the server

Code:
vncviewer: ConnectToTcpAddr: connect: Connection refused
unable to connect to VNC server

That would make it seem like RealVNC server isn't running. Can you connect from another computer?
