Realplayer Registartion pop up!

Ok here's the problem, i now have realplayer installed with the R9 Codecs and it runs just fine on mandrake 10.

The problem is everytime i click on real related item i get asked for the registration info, u know email address, connection speed etc, i just cancel out now but it is highly irritating.

If i leave realplayer open it works fine without asking for config info, but close it down and click on a real link and again it starts asking me for configuration details.

Is there anyway to stop this or is it the price to pay for having anything with the Real logo on my desktop? I seem to remember from windows that Real player is quite fond of trying to take over my entire PC and associate itself with file types it can't even play.

Thx, any help apprecated.

fill out the registration with random words, then start it. It shouldn't ask again!

But that's it i have filled it i was happy to fill it out the first time it asked, but apparently tht hasn't been good enough for realplayer, it insists on asking me to complete it everytime i start it up. I might try removing it all and starting over when i get home.

odd, maybe it has to do with not having write permissions to your realplayer prefs folder, but that would be mad wouldn't it?! sorry, can't help you any further as you have already done what I have done.

don't know about realplayer registration (don't and wouldn't use it), but maybe you could try mplayer instead:

I have found this seems to work. When you fill in the reg details, make sure that the last character in the zip code bix is a 0 (zero)
