I was trying to play some .rm files with Real Player 10, and I get at most 2 FPS... Is it supposed to work so bad, or maybe there is something missing in my system?

Its not supposed to be like that, maybe you should tinker with the hardware settings in RealPlayer.

Realplayer ---> Hardware Settings:
Disable 16-bit audio = no change
Disable custom sampling rates = no change
Use XVideo = at least now it shows some clips that it didn't before. Of course, around one frame every three seconds.

Realplayer ---> Content settings:
Playback performance = no change, quality level does not change anything
Clip chache = enable/disable/ from 4 to 128 MB, no change

Any other clues?

Playback is smooth for a little less than one second, the rate goes to 1 frame every 3 secs... What the heck is wrong with it????

I'm having the exact same issue. I'm running an AMD64 dual core chip on Ubuntu Dapper (Flight 6)... You running 64 bit by any chance? Probably its just that RP10 sucks arse...
