I have installed the newly released FC5. The Helixplayer is installed. Then I downloaded the Realplayer from http://www.real.com and installed it. Now when I play rm file. The Realplayer has only audio output but no video output. What's the problem? Thanks!
unclick xvideo in preferences>hardware>driver options. Soon afterward u will notice that this player is terrible with lots of frame freezes and will be better if u tried mplayer with live555 support which will let u watch real videos without their bad player.
I'm having the same problem with RealPlayer 10 on FC4 - no streaming, no video, just mp3 audio
I unchecked the box for Xvid, but no luck. I've tried all the Linux pages and no luck.
I also tried Mplayer and the same problem occurs. I only get audio no video for rm files.
If anyone has any suggestions please respond.
I emailed Real Networks support to see if they can answer as well. If I get it to work, I will post how I did it.
Mplayer plays any rm file just fine. You probably did not .configure/install mplayer correctly with the 'all-codec' package. You need to have that package installed prior to compiling mplayer or it will not configure correctly. Run mplayer from a console window, it will tell you what's wrong with the codec it's trying to play and usually how to fix it.

I have exactly the opposite problem with RealPlayer, video but no audio.
I have added myself to /etc/groups and can play CD's mp3 files and so on.
