Realplay codecs for Gmplayer

I installed gmplayer only to find it cant play rm or rmvb fils. So I download realplay codecs for gmplayer. But the big problem is I dont know where to put them.

find where you installed gmplayer at......then find the directory called plugins and link the plugins to that directory with

ln -s umpitysquatplugin.so /usr/local/gmplayer/plugin directory .......etc.

I did whereis mplayer and check everywhere where mplayer is and found there is no gmplayer plugins directory in my system.

It appears to be a function specified during configure:
./configure --with-reallibdir option.
