really strange glxgears result...
ive just installed Mepis and im loving it....got the nvidia drivers installed to, and for some reason, on slack 10.0 with xorg, i used to get only aroung 4600.200 FPS...BUT with mepis(which uses XFree---its an older version of mepis) ....im getting ahuge 6500 FPS...!!!!!!!!
i tried using my xorg.config from slack and renamed it to XF86Config-4 .....and i got the same 4600 FPS in mepis too...obviously something to do with the config files, and the modules being loaded...tried adding those modules to the xorg file, but no difference...
if anyone is interested ill post both files here..thanx!

I get 4500 and 5600 fps when in the lil window mode....but the test was made to be in full screen mode...try it

I can see one BIG difference. In the Slack 10.0 your default color depth is 24 bit, in the MEPIS it's only 16 bit, that could probably account for the difference. Try changing your Slackware 10.0's to 16, or your Mepis to 24 and see if they are closer to what they should be.
