I doubt this really comes up very often, but it's irritating enough that I'd like to find out if anyone can help...

I'm trying to backup my iPod files. No iTunes, nothing out of the ordinary, just mp3 rips of my CD collection.

The iPod is connected via USB and the drive I'm trying to get the files on is an external 60GB Firewire drive. gtkpod allows me to transfer a few files at a time to the drive with no problems. But if I try to copy them all at once (or many at a time), ALL tracks fail to copy. I can't find any documentation of this problem anywhere.

Any takers?

Wanna hear the stupid answser? Plug the iPod into a different USB port. Same thing happened to me, got my brand spanking new iPod, installed gtkpod and if I copied one CD it worked great, tried to copy 100 and it failed about 5 mins in and nothing made it across. Turned out I plugged it into a different USB port and it works great now.

Weird thing is, the one it was plugged into works fine, it houses my Bluetooth adapter now. I'm not one to argue with a working setup though
