Question Real Player One wont play files

Just installed real player one alpha on my pii linux mandrake 9.1 distro and i'm having the following problem. The program starts ok but when i go to play an mpeg file a warning comes up from rp that i dont have autoupdate privalege and the program shuts down. i deleted all files and retried installing under root but i have the same problem. Even when i run the program from a root konquerer session. any suggestions?

That's ture,for realplay one for linux only play rm and rmvb format.

do u know of a good player for mpeg,avi etc that works w/mandrake?
