I am running Linspire with Real Player 10 and need some help correctly figuring out the preference's settings to get asf streams to work. I am trying to listen to Bloomberg radio and have not been able to configure the player correctly.

The messages while trying to connect say I am connecting thru port 1755 and then it switches port 80, begins to buffer, quits buffering before complete, and then says "Stopped."

I have tried numerous settings in the preferences but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

ASF is the same as WMA, a microsoft proprietary format. If you haven't already installed a set of codecs to include wma, asf, mov and many others you may need to do that first. After that I think you'll be better off trying to play the files through a payer that better handles a variety of formats. Mplayer and Xine are good ones for audio and video. For audio-only formats there's also XMMS.
