Real player and Linux
I have real player installed on ubuntu 6.0.6. I use it to to listen to bbc radio via the internet (including programs that I missed).
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/gqt/ The bizarre thing is that sometimes it does not work. Ie it shows as playing but there is no sound however my sound is working and I can play cds. Any ideas why ? This may help I downloaded a .ram file and I tried to open it but for some reason real play was not among the list of applications. In helix player I got the message :- The following components are required :-protocol_rtsp_rdt But real player is installed :- david@david-desktop:~/Desktop$ whereis realplay realplay: /usr/bin/realplay /usr/lib/realplay /usr/bin/X11/realplay /usr/local/sbin/realplay.bin /usr/local/sbin/realplay /usr/local/sbin/realplay.bak /usr/share/realplay |
Dunno what is going on with your realplayer, but I use mplayer to listen to the radio, streaming .rm files.
Sometimes I get a .ram which I open to obtain the link. Mplayer plays most of the addresses I get. jlinkels |
