Re-Initialize hard drives without reboot

Hi All,

I'm trying to find a way to re-initialize my hard drives without having to reboot.

I'm using an old DOS image from partimage that I'm trying to restore and have write access straight away. I'm sure I've done this before but I just can't remember how :-|

Summary:

Using partimage to restore old image to disk.
Need write access to the restored partition as soon as partimage is finished.

Cheers

J

Err, why don't you just mount the partition? Lots of threads here that will help you if you cannot remember how to do this!

OK Dude,

Strangely this worked! I tried this before and it Didn't!?!?!

But I now have a solution to my problem and I thank you.

By the way if you know anything about compressing an image from teh dd command I'd be interested to hear about it :-)

Cheers

John

How about...

dd [options] | gzip > image.gz
