RAR through KDE

Ok, Ive tried this again and again, with no luck. Im trying to setup the rar command to decompress rar files to the current directory in its own subdirectory. Ive looked at the command usage and I cant seem to figure it out. I can get it to decompress it in its own directory in my home directory, but not the directory in im. This is what I have in the Command text box:

Code:
/usr/local/bin/rar e -ad "%f"
If anyone can help, it would be great. Thanks alot!

What error messages do you receive to indicate that it fails to decompress?

What text box are you speaking of?

Okay I'm going to assume somethings, correct me if I'm wrong. You've got a shortcut on your KDE desktop and you've put that as the execute command. Though that seems to be the scenario...I'm not sure how it would be of any use...

Mind filling in the gaps? I'd like to help, but I need more information.

rar e will extract into the current directory, use rar x instead:
rar x -ad filename.rar
will extract into a directory /fielname/

If the rar was multipart , for example
rar x -ad finame.part01.rar
it will extract into /filname.part01/

sorry...

I right clicked on a .rar file and went to properties. I clicked the edit file type button and hit "Application Preference Order" and went to edit. Go to the Application tab then in the command text box I have /usr/local/bin/rar e -ad "%f"

No errors, just not doing what I want it to.. its decompressing to its own folder in my home directory and i want it to decompress into its own folder in the current directory
