rar plugin for ark

It seems I can't extract (or even access, for that matter) rar archives. Says plugin isn't in PATH.

I found a plugin for ark, called unrar (or at least I think it is a plugin for ark)

Is this the right plugin for ark? If not where do I find the right one?

And, how do I go about installing the plugin?

unrar is for extracting rar files. In order to manipulate rar files (like look in them with ark), you need to install the rar package.

What distro are you running? if you're using an rpm distro:

http://rpm.pbone.net/

type in 'rar' (no quotes) into the search box.

As far as I can tell, you don't need to match versions of rar and unrar.

Wow, thanks.

I found one for Mandriva 2006. I'm a bit worried about a mention of a 40 day trial, though.

I suppose I'll find out in 40 days
