.RAR Files

Yesterday I got some fantastic help from LinuxQuestions.org so I'm going for broke again....

What is the easiest way to deal with .RAR compressed files on Redhat 9.0?

There seems to be no default graphical application that deals with these.

I've downloaded RAR3.20 for linux from rarsoft.com but there are no install instructions. It only comes with a makefile and well...using makefile is not too easy on my end....

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Yup, I agree..
But many questions have alread been answered in forums all over.
More then once I've seen the same questions asked over and over.. or people just not bothering to look.. 5 seconds on google saves everyone time, including you.
Would you rather wait for an answer.. or get it immediated?

Happy to have been of help

You go and get yourself unrar, unzip, unarj and whatever else you might need and install those. After that you install either karchiver (can handle rar,zip and tar but thats it) or atool as a command line tool (handles anything you got a unwhatever for).

Yes, it is called Linuxquestions, however the advice still stands, google.com is a great place for answers...

It usually is my first stop...then if you can't find it (or can't understand what you find...which can happen) then you can ask very good questions here.

However, if you don't look or search or do anything to try and learn what you're looking for, well, no one is saying you can't post a question, but expect someone to tell you that google.com would have given you an answer right away (rather than wait for someone to spoonfeed you)
