Hi everyone, thanks in advanced for the help...

It depends on what distribution you are using. I had this problem in debian etch (4.0), because by default it uses the free version of unrar. So in my case it was solved by uninstalling the open-source version and installing the unrar-nonfree package

So your saying go and get a torrent with a crack of a paid version of unrar, or something?

nope. If you need to unrar archives under Linux, try to use "unrar-nonfree" package. It is free (as in beer). And it's made by rarlabs. Also there is unrar made by GNU. That is the free(as in freedom) version. And Debian usually uses the free(as in freedom) version, even though it has some bugs. Maybe your distribution also uses the non-free version, so I suggest that you should simply remove the GNU version of unrar and install the other one. Just look for unrar and unrar-nonfree packages in your repos.
