RAR and DVD (.r01, .r02, .r03 etc)
 

On Windows I used WinRAR to make images of my DVD's which were in .r0X packages, but how I do it on Linux? Can I do it with rar software, or do I need to download WinRAR for Win and use it via Wine?

I think what you want is rar-2.80.

You can do a couple of ways with rar or with the split command. Quick search on google gave me the following links. There are several more as well.
