Any distro should be able to install on a different partition on the raid set or a separate harddrive outside the raid set. I guess some installers/LiveCDs might have problems recognising the raid configuration. It depends partly on what sort of raid this is (true hardware raid, linux software raid or bios raid).
I would just choose a distro, burn a liveDVD/CD and try booting it and see if it recognise the raid drive. It should be the same as with a normal hard drive. Just be careful with the partitioning software so that you don't delete your existing installation.
