radeon drivers possible conflicts

is it possible to enable the ATI RAdeon option on the Direct Rendering Manager part of the kernel configuration or that will create conflicts w/ the driver from ATI?

Also, choosing radeon when configuring X (in the "choose your video card" part) won't create conflicts too?

If you enable that and set it up right, you don't even NEED the ATI driver.

but what if i install the ati drivers later, will that create a conflict?

There 's no other way to get 3d acceleration from the car without installing ATI drivers right?
