Question Quota on Sendmail

Hi... I have a mail server on my ISP that works alone in one Pentium MMX. I have another machine that is my server and I use YP to check for the password remotely. Now, I'm trying to set quota for the users, but I have about five hundred users and I can't do it one by one using the edquota -u user. I've already seen some command to do that for many user with just one line command. But, this command, checks the local passwd and I need something to do that but using the remote passwd.
How can I change all the quotas with some command or script!?
Thanks...

if all of your users are in group "user" can u set the quota for the group?

as far as a script goes, you could parse the output of cat /etc/passwd to get each user and run the edquota command that way.

i've never worked with quota and im not a good script writer but these are just my suggestions.

edit:

after asking someone i work with, he said you could cat the password file and only edit the quota for users that have a UID greater than some set number.

on RedHat boxes it is usually 500, could be 100 on another box and so on. Take a peek at the password file and see what the 1st UID is for a human user and go from there.

hM.. thanks... but if I do a edquota -g group ... it will set a quota for the whole group... or a maximum quota for each user of the group?!?
The problem is that in the mail machine... the passwd local doesn't have the users of the mail server... the users are in the passwd of the server...
Thank you for any suggestion...
