quota issue

hi all...
i'm having a stupid issue with quota system.
kernel is compiled for quota.
this is fstab.

LABEL=/HOME /home ext3 defaults,usrquota,grpquota 1 2

#mount -o remount /home
#quotacheck -cug

...and it stays like this forever....

nothing to do even if i do it at runlevel 1 and even if i create manually aquota.user and aquota.group with 600 permiss.
any idea?

try quotacheck -a

What happens if you do like redhat say ?

If the filesystem has been in use for a while without quotas, then it will take a while as it builds the database.
