Quicktime Player 7

I have been using this app on my Mac to edit video. I find it very easy when I want to save snippets of video. Is there a similar app for Linux Ubuntu. I am not looking for something like iMovie because that is overkill for what I am doing.

I've never used a mac so I don't know what iMovie is or does. For video editing I use avidemux. It's quite easy to select a section of your video and save the snippet selected to a separate file.

Thanks jdkaye!

I know that Pitivi is similar to iMovie so I don't need anything like that. I will take a look at avidemux. I'm just looking for something basic that can do what I am looking to do.
