Arrow QuickTime files

Hi there,

I'm trying to play a QuickTime files in MPlayer. These files are short movies made using my digital camera. MPlayer opens it, but without sound; it says "Cannot find codec for audio format 0x454E4F4E". I tried every available in MPlayer codec - still the same. Somebody had this kind of problem before ? What can I do to watch my "movies" with sound ? Thanks for any suggestions

The distro is FC2. I can only remember downloading Win32 codecs package. In most cases I'm using libavcodec. Documentation says that it should allow watching QT, MOV and MP4 files. It does, but without sound
btw. I'm sure that files are ok, cause I already tried opening them on windows box.

are there other audio codecs like "lame" that you might need to download. fedors doesn't support many audio formats out the box - hence probably your lack of sound...

and the mplayer codecs pack (different to the win32codecs)...

Hi RedAhead,
I had the same problem: QT files, no sound. It was the Sorensen codec that was the problem. I downloaded the latest codecs from mplayer but still no sound.
Then I went into Mplayer's preferences, "Codecs and demuxer" tab, and changed the "Audio codec family" option to "QuickTime Audio Decoder".
Problem solved. Plays everything. Maybe it will work for you.
