Quick Question....Easy Answer

I've been searching but not finding what I need.

I'm looking for a small program that will run in the background and notify me when there is new mail on my POP3 server so that I know to go check my mail.....in all my searching, I only learned a lot about fully functional email programs.

Anyone got a recommendation for me on what program to use?

Thanks

gnome has an applet under the internet category (right-click panel=>add to panel=>Intenet) called inbox monitor.

wmpop3 is another dockapp for other windowmanagers: http://www.cs.mun.ca/~scotth/ --that not working http://linux.tucows.com/preview/10421.html

and yet another http://wmpop3lb.jourdain.org/

Let's not forget GKrellM, which has a nice animated mail notifier. And the rest of it is handy too!
