questions from a newbie........

Hi guys, I was wondering, how do get the clock in Mandrake 9.1 to show the correct time? I power down alot and everytime I shut down the clock stops.
Also, I have 2 cd writers and a DVD rom and the icons on the desktop don't really specify which one is which. How do I rename them?
Last, how do you get the screensavers to work and where do I go to set these and wallpapers too?

Thanks in advance....

"how do get the clock in Mandrake 9.1 to show the correct time?"

man hwclock
will give you an explanation of how to manage the clock.

"How do I rename them?"
Right click on the icon and then click on properties.

"how do you get the screensavers to work and where do I go to set these and wallpapers too?"

Run the KDE control center which should be on your menu somewhere. The program name is kcontrol. Click on Appearance & Themes. Then you want Background to set the wallpaper and Screen Saver for the screen saver.

Hmmm, clock stopping. Dead BIOS battery. I don't think it has anything to do with Mandrake.
On any icon, right click select, select rename. Or properties to change the icon, etc.
Screensavers? Is there a problem with them not working or you don't know how to turn it on? If you want to turn it on, right click on your desktop background and select configure desktop. If it is that you don't know how to turn it on, I would recommend you read this...
