Questions about ALSA
 
hi there!

first of all I've got a question about alsa:

- if I download the alsa-driver sources, compile and install them, do I still need to enable all the alsa/oss stuff in the kernel config?


I've got some problems as well:

- I have installed alsa by following the instructions given at the alsa website. but every time I reboot, I have to run

modprobe snd-intel8x0
modprobe snd-pcm-oss
modprobe snd-mixer-oss
modprobe snd-seq-oss
to get the sound working
+ seems like my alsamixer settings aren't stored although I ran alsactl store

that's quite annoying as you might imagine

any ideas how to fiy this? ;>

k, I just found out that I have to run 'alsactl restore' at startup :rolleyes:
I've been using the alsa-packages that come with slackware before ...
