Question about software that creates a pdf

Is there any program (CLI or GUI) which can convert a series of pictures named like *01.jpg, *02.jpg, *03.jpg,... into one single pdf file whose page numbers are in the same order as the images in the image list?

Thanks.

You could add one picture per page to an OO.org/LibreOffice document and create a PDF out of that. End result would be the same.

Thanks for your reply, but what you suggested takes more time doing a repetitive task that can be easily done automatically by a computer program.

A simple CLI program would be great.

You can use imagemagick to convert the images to pdf. Then you can use ghostscript to concatenate them, or other ways are listed here:

Thanks for your reply.

I copied all image files to be converted into one pdf file to an empty directory and used the magical command:
Code:
convert *.jpg my-complete-book.pdf
The result was a beautifully finished "book" containing all the images.

Your post was instrumental in helping me to find the solution because convert is packaged in imagemagick.

Thanks.
