Question about MP3 / OGG players

All:
I'm writing an application for managing mp3s and OGGs. (all obtained legally of course ;) ).

I have a question. the only mp3 player I've ever used is XMMS and as such I've been doing a lot of integration between the app and xmms... is this a pretty safe bet?

I'm sure there are plenty of mp3 players out there... can I get a bit of a vote... how many people use xmms or other?

thanks for the input in advance,
jpbarto

You won't go wrong integrating with XMMS. I would bet 90% of us use it. I have tried others and come back to it. If you go to the plugin page, there are probably 5,000 from all over the place, thousands of skins, etc. Let me know when it is done, I could use something to manage my database, 1000+ ogg and going (yes, all legal too :) )

RolledOat thanks for the feedback.

Looks like you must be pretty much right too (at least we're in the majority eh). 29 views and no one has said different.

As such we'll leave most of the development focused on working with XMMS for now.

As for the project its in alpha stages now. I'm looking to have a nice and usable release available by end of July.

you can keep an eye on it at http://sourceforge.net/projects/lucien

thanks again,
