question about limewire

when you download and install limewire, is it ready to go after installing and everything? because theres alot of p2p's for linux that require you to download like 3 other files then install them too. so is limewire just a one download and install program?

Well Limewire is a Java program, so you'll need that installed at least.

"Linux users must already have the Java2 Runtime Environment, v. 1.3.1 (JRE) installed to use this installer."

Since Limewire provides a link to the JRE v. 1.4.2 I assume they mean you must already have v. 1.3.1 or higher.

Question LimeWire installation

Well I have java installed. It is only working in Opera for the tiem being. So that is how I know it is installed and working. However, when I try to install LimeWire I get this error:

./LimeWireLinux.bin: line 326: [: `)' expected, found -z
WARNING! The amount of /tmp disk space required and/or available
could not be determined. The installation will be attempted anyway.
Extracting the installation resources from the installer archive...
Configuring the installer for this system's environment...
No Java virtual machine could be found from your PATH
environment variable. You must install a VM prior to
running this program.

How do I change this PATH so that LimeWire will know it is available?

Try this:

"export PATH=$PATH:/path/to/java" ** substitute "/path/to/java" with where you installed java! . . . In my case it is "/usr/local/j2sdk/bin"

Then try to run "sh ./LimeWireLinux.bin" again.
