Question about accent characters, etc in

I was wondering how to type special characters (such as vowels with an accent over them, the n with a tilde over it, upside-down exclamation and question marks, etc.) in It would be helpful to me in typing documents in Spanish. In Microsoft Word, I can type these characters by using combinations of Ctrl, Alt, and the character itself--> for example Ctrl+Alt+? gives me an inverted question mark and Ctrl+'+i gives me an i with an accent over it. Are there ways of doing things like this in I looked in the Unicode character map included in my distubution, but I had difficulty finding the upside-down question mark and exclamation mark. Thanks for your help.

Just change the language setting to Spanish. Should give you all the characters you need. Openoffice does come with a lot of different language settings. Try that.
