If you have a look at the Quartus website here:
https://www.altera.com/support/softw...uartus_sub.jsp
They support the following OS's
Quote:
Windows Vista (32 bit and 64 bit)
Windows XP (32 bit and 64 bit)
Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (32 bit and 64 bit)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (32 bit and 64 bit)
SUSE Linux Enterprise 9 (32 bit and 64 bit)
CentOS 4 (32 bit and 64 bit)
CentOS 5 (32 bit and 64 bit)
Do you know if Quartus 2 will run on OpenSuse? If so, then there should be an install script in the top-most folder on your CD. You can also download an install script from their site.
Cheers,
jdk

I think you pay for the former and not for the latter. I use Debian myself but I'm sure a Suse user could straighten this out.
cheers,

I googled linux quartus and found this thread. It may be useful.
http://www.alteraforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214
Other than that I would look for other opensource software that does the job that Quartus does.
Cheers,
jdk
