Quanta install can't find X include
Hello,
I'm trying to install Quanta, (kdewebdev-3.4.0) on fedora core 3 running kde-3.4.2-0fc3.2. When running ./configure I get the error "checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!". I can add the conditions to configure --x-includes=DIR, but I have no clue what DIR is! I've found "/usr/X11R6/include" but it's empty. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

have you tried /usr/X11/include too?
you may have to install an X11-dev package to to get the headers if its not there either

Thanks for the reply!
I installed the X11-devel package and that did get rid of the first error. Now a new one: "checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!"
If I'm reading things correctly, the default "prefix" is /usr/local/bin in this config file. I have no idea where a KDE header might be installed! Actually, I have no idea what a KDE header is!
Again, any help is appreciated.

You need to install kdelibs-devel.

Started to do that via rpm but came up with a lot of dependency errors.
I'd already spent a couple of hours at this so I searched for Quanta rpms, found one for a slightly older version and for just Quanta, not the kdewebdev-3.4.0. That installed fine and is up and running.
If I have time I'll go the kdelibs-devel route and see if I can get kdewebdev-3.4.0 running.
Thanks for the help.

Maybe its beter to upgrade to Fedora Core 4 instead of using Redhat 9.
