Qtella missing tabs at top of window

I just downloaded the qtella tar.gz file from www.qtella.net and compiled for my RH9 machine with no problems. It installed just fine and launched with out a hitch! Only problem is that there are no navigation tabs at the top just below the menu bar!! I looked at the screenshots from qtella.net and sure enough, the tabs are there. The tabs are labeled "Connections, Search, Downloads...." and so on. So the only functionality I have is provided on the menu bar and I cannot connect, search, download....etc. Anyone else have this problem?
