QT problems

I have Mandrake 9.1 installed. I have not been having any trouble. I wanted to install KNETSCAN, a graphical network utility program, but it says I am missing QT. I have the proper libs installed (3.1 comes with Mandrake and KDE). I thought I would just try to install a different trace program but still get QT lib missing errors. I even tried to install KWEATHER but got the same results (says it needs at least QT 2.2). I ran RPMDRAKE just to double check but I have every lib associated with QT already installed. Is there something I am missing?? I would really like to be able to install some programs.

Thanks

The reason you're having this problem is that qt2 and qt3 are rather distinct, and a program written for qt2 will not compile for qt3. Bug the author of the program to update their code. It is possible to have both qt2 and qt3 installed, but I am not familar with the mechanism for this on mandrake. Under debian, there exist two packages: libqt2, and libqt3, which may be installed concurrently.

I had an install of Mandrake 9.1 about 6 months ago and had no problems installing KWeather. KNetscan uses QT 3.0 and I can't get it to install either so I am not convinced its a version issue. Is there way to check to make sure the path to my installed QT 3.1 is correct??
