Unhappy qt/bin/ is empty

I'm trying to compile an application downloaded that requires QT. I have installed qt-3.3 and qt4 from yum, neither of which can be removed as somehow they have dependencies that were there first, and it's complaining that it cannot find uic.

I've set the QTDIR variable to the qt path but the bin/ directory is empty. Nothing there.

Any ideas?

Most distros split Qt into chunks, separating libs, development
files, binaries and other stuff ...

Search your yum-repo again.

Cheers. I checked and it didn't install the qt4-devel package. But now it's complaining that it can't find the qt headers.
